Hello Beauties,

Enjoy this month´s beauty letter. “Smart skin care changes for the Winter.”
It’s wintertime and the livin’ ain’t easy. Winter weather is not fun for our skin. Cold weather and low humidity levels result in dry air, which then steals moisture away from the skin. Without immediate care, dry skin can lead to cracking. Harsh winter wind makes the problem worse and indoor heat further robs the air of moisture, as do hot showers, baths and harsh cleansers.

Additional moisture helps, but you need to do more to actually counteract these effects and keep skin looking youthful and smooth. This year, we’ve learned our lessons and are going to winter prep early!

Try these tips to reduce chapping, redness and itching while keeping the skin more healthy and comfortable this season.

Tip No 1.

La Bio Clair de Teint DouxNourishing your skin is even more important during the winter months because the harsh weather means your skin is regularly exposed to changing environments. During winter, switch to a milky/creamy cleanser. Foaming or gel-based formulas, which we used during summer, can be too harsh on some skin types during winter.
Using a cream cleanser will lift impurities and make up without stripping the skin of its natural oils.

CLAIR DE TEINT DOUX is super gentle and can even be used as an eye make up remover. Because of its neutral pH-level of 5.2, it will leave your skin balanced and hydrated.
Tip No 2.

La Bio Lotion DesincrustanteWe often forget to help the skin slough off dead cells in the winter. Moisture is essential though isn´t enough if the dead cells are too plentiful. Exfoliating your skin is just as important in the winter time as it is in every other season.

In the colder seasons, use something which is mild but effective, like LOTION DESINCRUSTANTE. It is a liquid exfoliant with a salicylic acid base which cleanses pores deeply, encourages cell turnover and leaves the skin super fresh and “clean”.

Tip No 3.

La Bio Traitement RegenerantThe lighter moisturizers we used in the summer will need replacing for something richer come winter. Skin can appear dull during this season as the cold weather, coupled with indoor-heating, zaps skin of luminosity and moisture. Fully hydrating your skin now will help you avoid this issue once winter arrives.

Use a rich moisturiser to provide the skin extra nourishment. A lot of women think it should be used at night time. But, I think it has to suit your lifestyle! If you spend a lot of time outside in the winter months, then you should use the richer formula during the day to give you better protection! If you are the kind of woman who spends the majority of your time inside, then use a lighter cream during the day and a richer cream before bed time. The goal is – use one!

TRAITEMENT REGENERANT is an intense night care with protection against cell degeneration due to sun exposure. It also stabilizes the skin barrier layer.

LA CAPSULE is an oil serum which makes the skin exceptionally silky, improving firmness and elasticity; protecting the skin from moisture loss and cell damage.

Tip No 4.La Bio Traitement Levres

No lipstick looks good on dry, chapped lips. Have a lip treatment, like TRAITEMENT LEVRES, close to your nightstand. It is perfect for dry, sensitive and chapped lips. Shea butter and wild mango seed oil nourishes the lips and marine extracts provides hydration up to 6 hours! The mustard seed stimulates the micro-circulation in the skin’s blood vessels which provides a fuller appearance and instant moisturization of the lips. The lip contour is more clearly defined and the lip colour is more intense. Apply before bed time or throughout the day.

Tip No 5.

La Bio Traitement MainsJust as you pamper your face with the best care, your hands are your calling card and also deserve special attention. They often reveal our true age, although it is very easy to pamper them and improve their appearance! Have a richer hand cream with you and re-apply after every hand wash throughout the day.

TRAITEMENT MAINS lastingly supplies your hands with moisture. It provides watercress, zinc and Vitamin B3 which can even pigmentation for those who are prone to age spots. The cream acts as a protective, conditioning glove without leaving hands feeling oily. Are you prone to skin sensitivities and irritation between your fingers? Blackcurrant seed oil is rich in omega 3/6 fatty acids which will help strengthen our stressed protective barrier layer. Balloon vine extract further calms inflammations and prevents against skin reactions. All over, Traitement Mains it is the perfect hand cream for the brrrrrrrr season.

Tip No 6.

Is your skin completely out of order? Use this saviour!

La Bio Creme CongestifCREME CONGESTIF: This multi-functional, rich, protecting barrier balm is THE must-have cream for fragile skin types! If used regularly, it prevents the expansion of small blood vessels and reduces skin reddening. Skin becomes more resistant to external influences. Irritations caused by wind, cold and sun are avoided and itchiness, tightness and irritations are calmed with medicinal white oil. Vitamin A as well as sweet almond oil improve skin smoothness and suppleness, leaving a healthy glow. Use this protecting cream as a night care, several times a week to dry areas like lips, elbows, hands, knees, heels etc…

Tip No 7.La Bio Le The Citrone

We tend to drink less water in the winter because our body doesn´t perspire as much as in the summertime. While hot drinks like cocoa, chai and nutmeg lattes are warming our soul and sooth us into relaxation, we usually forget to hydrate ourselves. So please remember our skin also needs hydration from the inside out. A little warm water with lemon, honey or ginger can be very refreshing and hydrating while at the same, boost our immune system to fight any winter cold. Alternatively, choose a blend of tea you like which also tastes good when it cools down.

My favourite is LE THE CITRONE from La Biosthetique.

Escape the typical winter blues by following my guidelines. Your skin will be happy throughout the cold season and will not only look supple and soft but also protected and glowy.
Until next time,

Anna
