Changing from a day to night look is as easy as popping up your cheeks with a subtle blush, adding a smoky eye, and applying a lip plumping gloss. Jane Iredale Mineral Cosmetics has you “covered “during the day with pure pressed powder or loose powder foundation with an SPF 20, protecting you from the harmful effects of the sun. Apply with the Handi brush for the best coverage. Once your day is done and you’re ready to take on the night it’s as easy as….1, 2, 3!
1. Choose an eye shadow (charcoal, dark suede, or smoky grey are my favourites!) and use the Angle brush to enhance your eyes. Smudge some shadow on your bottom and upper lash lines. Start at the outer corner of your eye and move towards the inside. Make the outer corner thicker than the inner. Select a lighter coloured shadow to apply to the crease of your eye and an even lighter shade to the middle of your eyelid. The thicker the smudge increases the smoky eye effect. Top it off with Jane Iredale mascara.
2. Select a blush that works well with your skin tone and apply with the Fan Blush Brush. Typically a rose colour (cotton candy or whisper) are best for fair skin tones. For olive skin tones a warm, peachy undertone is best. (Sheer Honey, Golden Apricot, and Bronzer are great colours). For a deep blush that really stands out, go for the Flush colour as it has more of a red tone.
3. Now you’re ready for the finishing touch. It’s usually best if you are going for a balanced look to use a gloss that is lighter than your eye shadow to ensure that it’s your eyes that receive the most attention and really stand out. Soft Peach, Cotton Candy, and Apple are excellent choices for this look. If you are going for a more glamorous look, wearing a dark lip colour as well as a heavy eye (smoky eye) is ultra sexy!
