During Earth Month Aveda hosts a National Walk for Water across Canada to raise funds for WaterAid is a leading Canadian charity dedicated to fighting global poverty by helping the world’s poorest people gain access to clean water, basic sanitation and hygiene education. With our entire team combined we have provided clean drinking water to over 15 people for the rest of their lives!
We walk 6km from the Aveda Institute in Gastown to city hall. The same distance that women walk to collect dirty water from the closest well to their village for their families. They also need to walk all the way back with full jugs of water! WaterAid helps to establish clean water right in their villages so they no longer need to walk as far.
